Traditional Korean Martial Arts

Martial Arts have been passed down for centuries in remote mountain Zen monasteries in Korea, as a way to develop the health & fitness of body, mind & spirit. As a practice for Buddhist monks, this art teaches more than self-defence skils, developing emotional & spiritual awareness.

Techniques include: kicking skills that are great for cardio fitness; philosophy of non-violence and peaceful resolution of conflict; techniques of avoidance to redirect the attackers force; meditation; Ki (internal energy) development; and at higher grades Oriental medicine. Practice develops self-confidence, self-discipline, perseverance, respect & humility.

We offer beginners classes, specifically for those with no experience in martial arts. You don’t need to be physically fit or athletic. Each student will be taught individually in a safe, supportive environment.

Classes suitable for beginners: Tuesday 5.30-6.30pm. Wednesday 10.30am-11.45am.
Advance booking essential.
